Better times — the fashion show “RAMI AL ALI” in the year 2012 (picture: Christian Janssen)

Cultural life suffered losses globally; this was a result of the COVID‑19 pandemic. For example, theatres were either totally closed or opened for a small audience, trade fairs for books did not take place, film festivals had showings for the audience at a later date and fashion weeks became more and more digital. Nonetheless, a world premiere took place in the Berlin theatre “FRIEDRICHSTADT‑PALAST” on 22ⁿᵈ September 2021. A thousand two hundred and sixty‑seven guests — a capacity utilization at a height of two-thirds because of the pandemic restrictions — saw the performance of the revue “ARISE Grand Show” by the German author and director Oliver Hoppmann. The French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier who had created the costumes for a former show was one of these guests. The fashion designer Stefano Canulli from Italy had responsibility for the new costumes. The photographer Cameron who was in the focus of the revue traveled with his muse through the world. When he lost her, his good luck ended. In mental darkness, he looked at his own pictures at the wall. Suddenly, these pictures began to live. A strange light magically pulled him into the most beautiful memories of the common time. Unfortunately, the new revue with production costs of eleven million Euros was not so good as the former revues such as “VIVID GRAND SHOW EINE LIEBESERKLÄRUNG AN DAS LEBEN”, “THE WYLD”, “SHOW ME” and “Yma ZU SCHÖN, UM WAHR ZU SEIN”.
