Γνῶθι σεαυτόν — nosce te ipsum — know thyself!

This is one of the Delphic maxims and was the first of three inscriptions at the forecourt of the Temple of Apollo in Delphi.
Apollo in Latin or Apollon in ancient Greek (Ἀπόλλων) is the classical god of sun, light, truth, fine arts and more;
he also leads the muses wherefore he is additionally called Musagetes.

So he is the ideal eponym for a new culture magazine
where it shall be about painting, sculpture, architecture, music, belles lettres, performing arts with dance,
photography, cinematographic art, conceptual art and fashion design
as well as about style and fashion over the course of time.

APOLLON in English language is directed at a worldwide English speaking readership,
namely as the successor to the English parts of MODE UND KULTUR.
